About Me
(un poquito de colores)…well, a lot about colors… lol
Hello! I was a Bilingual teacher for 25 years.
I learned my Spanish in Mexico going to Language Schools living with families,
My first school in Mexico was with Austin College Spanish Department. It was the summer of 1977. I left for Puebla, Mexico for 6 weeks. I lived right by Centro. Between my family and school excursions I traveled to Mexico City, Chapultapec Castle, The pyramids (climbed to the top), Ciudad Mendoza, Oaxaca, Taxco, and Cuernavaca during that summer.
My mom came to visit and we took her and her friend all over central Mexico. Taxco, Cuernavaca, Puebla, and Mexico City. Of course, we went to the Ballet Folklorico at the Belles Artes. The Zocalo illuminated the Presidential Palace and the Cathedral as we went towards the ballet on our walk.
I graduated in 1981 with a degree in Bilingual Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish and certifications in English as a Second Language.
As I taught over the years, I was ultra creative, you could tell in my classroom decorations, the way I implemented the curriculum, the way I planned my classroom, the way that I organized interactions with other classes. I team taught with other classes unconventionally.
Color and creativity would be a strong element throughout all my years.
I was fierce at learning new things, and wasn’t afraid to try.
We lived in some interesting places, Languages, color, history, landscape, people all are part of my inner being.
All of this translates in to my love for all of this new learning curve. Decoupage, paint, moulds, antiquing, glaze, crackling, transfers, and oh so much more.
My Inventory
My inventory includes pictures that I have created using various surfaces including canvas, wood, metal, glass, etc. Lots of time is spent looking for unique and extraordinary items in order to create interesting works for your home.
I also decoupage, paint, and embellish furniture of various types. Dressers, nightstands, coffee tables, armoirs, chairs and headboards are examples of items that I have worked on.
